Collective Haul

I've done quite a bit of shopping over the past month or so and I thought it was time I shared with you what I've bought. It's a bit of a mixture but that makes it more exciting I guess :)

Clothes

I haven't bought much clothes recently mainly because the shops were full with their sales stuff. I personally am not one for rummaging around in the sales so I gave it a miss this year. The 3 items of clothing I bought were all from Dorothy Perkins and I admit, they did have 20% off, but I didn't find them in the sale rail.
The first on the left is a pale pink jumper with a cute little crochet design on the shoulders. The second is a long sleeve top with a low neck and a floral pattern. The third is basically the same as this however the neck comes up a little higher. I love all three of these as they are exactly my style and cute for the winter.

I finally treated myself to a new handbag, yay! I've been looking for one for so long but I just couldn't find one I liked for how much I wanted to spend. The one I bought in the end, pictured above, is from River Island. I saw it there a while ago and fell in love, however it was quite expensive so I had a look in other shops in hope to find something I liked just as much but for less. However it was one of those situations where you can't find anything else you like because your mind is already set on something. So I ended up going back and getting this one. I'm so glad I did though because I am basically in love with it.

Make Up

Along with the L'Oreal Miss Manga mascara which I reviewed a few weeks ago (Click here to read), I also bought a few other bits of make up. Starting from the left: L'Oreal Glam Shine Balmy Gloss, Maybelline Baby Skin, Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation and finally Maybelline Colour Tattoo eye shadow. I bought the foundation simply because I was running out. The others however I hadn't tried before and so far I'm loving them. Especially the Glam Shine stick. It looks great on and lasts soo long.

LUSH

As always, I went into Lush, however I was good this time and didn't go overboard. I will admit the picture above is a lie, I actually bought three bath bombs but I used one last night and completely forgot to feature it on here before. I'll start with the one that's missing, it was the 'Space Girl' bath bomb, I hadn't tried it before but it remind me of some of my favourite sweeties 'Palma Violets' as it smells like them and is also a similar colour, minus the red dust on top. The pink one above is the 'Think Pink' bath bomb, again I haven't tried this one before but its bright pink so I couldn't say no. The blue one above is probably my favourite I've tried so far, I think I've bought this one about 4 times now. It's the 'Blackberry' bath bomb and it smells amazing and turns the bath such a pretty colour. It also has a small little note inside which excites me every time.

Bedroom Decor

The last thing I bought is this small set of shabby chic drawers from Dunelm Mill. It's probably about 30ish cm's high and has 3 drawers. I thought it would be a cute place to store things like hair grips and hair bands. It fits perfectly with the theme of my bedroom and it was in the sale too, perfect!

Have you treated yourself to anything recently?

New for 2014

Hello!

One

I have taken up knitting! Some of you may be wondering why as I guess it's not the average 18 year old's hobby but I do have reasoning behind it. My Gran always used to be knitting when we'd stay there of an evening and it fascinated me. However I was probably only 7 then so I had far more important things to do like play Barbies with my sister. Then a few weeks back I was waiting for my train to college and there was a lady sat in the shelter knitting. I thought it was soo cool and clever that I came home and told my Mum I wanted to knit and asked her to teach me. However we never acted upon this as it was a few days until Christmas and we were in the full swing of wrapping presents etc. Then on Christmas morning I opened up a knitting book, needles (or sticks as I call them) and some wool. I am now so in love with it! However I'm not very good yet but I have a whole year until anyone will be requiring any knitted Christmas jumpers so I think we're good!

Two

The second thing which is new for 2014 is a super cute idea which I found on Pinterest. Basically, you find an empty jam jar (clean it out first obviously!) and then when you do something you are proud of, or have achieved in 2014 (or just something that just made you smile) you write it on a small piece of paper and put it in the jar. Then at the end of the year you open the jar and look back at all the things which happened during the year. I think its such a nice way to remember the little things that you often just forget.

Three

The third and final thing which is new for 2014 is that I have started Zumba (Whoah there, exercise)! I went to my first session last night and I absolutely loved it! Needless to say everyone else there was 100 times better than me but for a first attempt I don't think I did too bad! For anyone who doesn't know what Zumba is, it's basically aerobic dancing. There's a teacher who stands at the front of the room and does all the movements and you just follow them, simple! It's such a laugh and I really recommend it for anyone who is thinking of getting fit, go with some friends if you feel anxious of going by yourself, it's something everyone will enjoy.

Are you taking up any new hobbies this year? :)

L'Oreal Miss Manga Mascara

First product review! It's not great, but you have to start somewhere :)

I don't usually buy L'Oreal Mascara, I tend to stick to my favourite ones and just use those. However when I saw this mascara in Superdrug I really wanted to try it. It is currently on an introductory offer of £5.99, but it will be going up to £8.99. Either way I personally think its worth it. It may not be for everyone though as I have heard mixed reviews. However for me it works amazingly.
To start with it gives natural yet lengthened lashes but then with a few more coats it starts to make them thicker too. Some have said that it clumps the lashes together but I found if you apply it slowly it separates them really well. The shape of the brush is really good too, the point at the end makes it really easy to catch the small lashes in the inner corner. Then the outer lashes get pulled out really naturally giving a great effect.
My eyelashes are quite short and this has always been a problem for me, but this brush is probably the first one that brings the teeny tiny lashes up and makes them look naturally long and full.  My bottom lashes are even shorter (Obviously), but they might as well not be there! However using this mascara it catches them just enough to make them look normal. It goes from one extreme to the other with my lashes and mascara. Some brushes just don't do anything to my lashes because they are just too short, or others make them look like spiders. Clearly No one wants spider lashes.

Although this mascara is all about 'Manga' and making your eyelashes look big and full, I personally found it to be a really nice natural mascara too, its very versatile. It's great for everyday wear yet it can be layered up for thick and full lashes too.
I'm not saying to rush out and buy this, to be honest it probably isn't going to sell out any time soon. But I definitely recommend it, and for £5.99, you can't really complain!
Have you tried it yet? If so, what's your verdict?
